This covers the same as a normal tuning except your piano will be tuned twice. When a piano becomes greatly out of tune the strings lose a lot of tension they are supposed to have. When first adding tension back onto the strings during the first pass the strings will not hold the initial tuning. The second pass will allow the tuning to settle and the resulting tuning will be significantly more stable than it would be otherwise.
